If you’re in a job that uses digital marketing, it’s important for you to know what SEO is. That’s because SEO (search engine optimization) is the process of increasing the visibility of your business on search engines, like Google.

What would happen if one day all of your online campaigns suddenly stopped working? How would you be able to find new clients? What are some common myths about optimizing websites? This blog post answers these questions and more. If you’re ready, go ahead and jump to the article.

SEO is a process of improving a website’s visibility on Search Engines

More than 90% of internet users (over 5 billion) use search engines to find information. That means that if you have a business-related website, people will likely find it using search engines.

There are several resources available online that can help you get better rankings on search engines like Google, but for this blog post, I’ll focus on SEO only.

So what does the term “SEO” actually mean? Seo stands for search engine optimization (basically it’s an acronym). It is a process of improving a website’s visibility on search engines.

There are many factors that search engines consider when ranking your website (visibility). Some of the factors that influence your site rankings are:

Title tags & Meta Description tags:

These are the most important on-page factors for SEO. The title tag and the meta description are different for every page on your website and should be written so that they contain your keyword or keywords.

Title tags should also be unique per page, and if it’s not possible, you can include keywords in their suffixes like “SEO services” or “SEO company”.

SEO helps content:

This will also influence your rankings. Good content will always help you get good rankings from search engines, but bad content may cause you to lose rankings.

Ideally, you should be writing around 300 words per page of high-quality text that has been optimized for search engines and doesn’t look spammy to users.

External links:

Links that point to your website from other high-quality websites are very important, but you shouldn’t focus on them too much.

Social media/Bookmarks:

Social media and bookmarks are a good way to get more traffic to your website, but they don’t directly help with rankings in search engines.

While this might seem like a lot of information at first, it’s really not that complicated once you figure out how it works.

Let’s face it. If you’re going to be a serious contender in today’s online world, then SEO is absolutely necessary.

It’s not just an add-on to other digital marketing activities, but it’s a crucial component that should be integrated into every aspect of your business plan.

If you’re in any kind of business (let alone a B2B) that relies on search traffic for sales, then SEO is one of the most important factors in your ability to increase revenue and profitability.

Unfortunately, most businesses tend to view their online marketing efforts as “fun” activities rather than essential strategies designed to help grow their business or improve their revenue growth.

But it’s not enough to simply have a website that looks great and functions well if you want to generate a robust amount of traffic and ultimately converts those visits into sales.

You also need great content, an effective conversion funnel and, of course, an effective strategy for positioning your brand in front of potential customers.
